In this role, you will be essential, contributing to the development of tasks related to the optimization of equipment in the industrial and agri-food sectors.

Team and Process Management (≈30%)
You will be responsible for leading the programming team and actively participating in improving and implementing programming and operation processes:

  • Act as a mentor and technical leader for the programming team;
  • Participate in resource planning for automation projects;
  • Support and guide each team member in their personal and collective growth;
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices to improve productivity;
  • Support the team in implementing and improving programming standards and processes.

Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programming (≈50%)
You will play a central role in preparing programs for automation projects, mainly in the manufacturing and agri-food sectors:

  • Assess client requirements;
  • Prepare and write project functional description documents;
  • Program using ladder logic, function block, Grafcet, or structured text.

Operational Setup (≈20%)
You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and writing operational setup documents;
  • System commissioning at client sites, which may include:
    • Input-output testing;
    • Testing of operating sequences;
    • Supporting production startup;
  • Training client personnel.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and French;
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;
  • Relevant experience in team management;
  • Ability to program various types of industrial equipment (PLC, HMI, VFD, SCADA, etc.);
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred (Assets):

  • DEC or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • ASP construction card.
